Emergence of Next Generation Firewall Industry

Gulf countries like Qatar and UAE are also emerging ahead. China has been aggressively deploying 5G nationally across various industries. However, the lack of unfied spectrum approach and immature ecosystem is hindering truly global 5G roaming at this stage.

Filling the Gaps for Industrial IoT and URLLC

While 5G is being deployed with initial focus on consumer eMBB services, the 3GPP has also standardized other capabilities around Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC) and massive IoT (mIoT). These will be crucial for industrial and societal applications like autonomous vehicles, telemedicine, automation etc. However, there is a gap between specifications and capabilities suited for such use cases. Challenges around reliability, latency, positioning, and dedicated network slices are still being addressed. Edge computing integration along with facility mapping and digital twin simulations would be important to demonstrate 5G's transformative potential beyond smartphones.
